ELOISE (DRAYTON) WILSON

The family of Sister Eloise Drayton Wilson, in consideration of the current health crisis facing our world, nation, state and local community, has decided not to hold a funeral service,however a memorial will be announce later. While the Wilson family would love to be surrounded by your presence, they acknowledge the health risks to family, church members, friends, and particularly to those who are most vulnerable to this disease, the elderly and those with chronic health conditions. What the family needs most at this time are your prayers and understanding. Thank you for your concern and cooperation.

Sister Eloise Drayton Wilson was 77, and departed this life Sunday April 5, 2020 in Charleston County. She was the wife of Robert L. Wilson,  mother of Daisy Wilson of Hollywood, SC,  Jeanette Thomas of Dillon, SC, Dionne Wilson of Texas, Grandmother of Kevin Justin Thomas.  

OBITUARY

Eloise Drayton Wilson also known as  Weezie was born on August 13, 1942 and departed this life, April 5, 2020  at her home with family surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of Ellis and Alice Drayton. She grew up in Charleston County and was a graduate of Baptist Hill High School.  She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Ethel Lee Richardson and Marie Drayton Mitchell,  and one brother, Vernon Drayton.

Eloise was employed with Veterans Hospital of Charleston for many years and volunteered at Rural Mission and the Sunshine store. 

She accepted Christ at an early age. She was member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Hollywood, SC where she served faithfully  on Usher Board.

Eloise was a wife,  mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her parents Ellis and Alice Drayton, Mother in law Bernice Gadsden.   She leaves to cherish her memory, Her loving husband of the home Robert Lee Wilson of 60+ years,  Three children: Daisy Wilson, Hollywood,  Jeanette Thomas, Dillon and Dionne Wilson, Texas, One grandson Kevin Justin Thomas. One sister Pearl Rivers (Lawrence) and two brothers: Ellis Drayton, Jr and Herbert Drayton (Harriet). One brother in law, Edward Gadsden (Jessica), One sister in law, Janie W. Fludd, One Uncle in law, Fred Gadsden (Carolyn) Jacksonville, Florida.  A very special lifelong friend sister Flossie Gardner.  Several uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Special acknowledgement to Roper St. Francis, West Ashley location, ICU unit and 2nd floor nursing staff, Dr. Cheri Franklin and Staff,  The Hospice center of Charleston, SC.
